Eligibility for Membership
Membership in Bhairavi Awakenings shall be open to any individual or family residing in the Greater Cincinnati area or neighboring regions who shares an interest in and supports the
organization's mission to promote and preserve Bengali and/or Indian culture and traditions.
Membership shall be granted without regard to race, color, gender, gender identity, age, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.

Classes of Membership
BA shall offer the following membership categories:
• General Member: Any individual or family that expresses an interest in participating in BA events and supports the organization's mission.
• Voting Member: A General Member who has fulfilled all annual dues (if applicable) and participated in at least one major event or planning activity in the preceding 12
months. Only Voting Members are eligible to vote in organizational elections and general meetings.
• Honorary Member: An individual who has made significant contributions to BA or Bengali culture and is recognized by the Board. This membership is symbolic and carries no voting rights.
Rights and Responsibilities of Members
All Members shall have the following rights:
• To attend and participate in all general meetings, cultural events, and puja celebrations;
• To vote (if eligible) on organizational matters, including Board elections and major amendments;
• To stand for election to the Board (if a Voting Member in good standing for at least 12 months).
Members are expected to:
• Support and uphold the mission and values of BA;
• Participate actively and volunteer during events;
• Conduct themselves respectfully in community settings, ensuring cultural sensitivity.

Termination of Membership
Membership may be revoked or suspended by a two-thirds voteof the Board of Directors for

Repeated disruptive behavior.

Actions harmful to the organization's reputation or integrity.

Misuse of organizational funds or resources.
The member shall have the right to appeal the decision in writing and request a hearing.
